DO NOT BUY CANDLE FRAGRANCE OILS AND DYES AT A CRAFT STORE! You will pay too much and the quality sucks. In my ebook, How To Make Your Own Gourment Scented Candles I give a list of a few of my sources.

Majestic Mountain Sage – A very good selection of unique blends of their own fragrances that you won’t find anywhere else. I little pricey, but worth it. http://www.thesage.com/catalog/index.html

Peak Candle – This is one of my favorite places because they have everything and the ordering process is easy. It’s where I bought my scale, pour pot, thermometer, wax, molds, wick pins, oils, dye and wicks. And that’s just about the whole ball of wax right there! They have a sample pack of 10 1 oz bottles for only $19.95. http://PeakCandle.com

Bitter Creek Candle Supply – Good prices on palm wax, about $2 less than Peak Candle. Lots and lots of fragrance oils. They do have several sampler pack combos. There is a Baker’s Dozen of 1 oz bottles for $20. That’s only $1.54/ea. But the selection process is horrible for the sample packs. There are over 360 scents, but you have to hold the Control key down while selecting the fragrances from a little window that only displays five lines at a time. Here’s a hint. In your browser do View > Source. Then search for the phrase “select 13″. There you can see the entire scent list in the HTML code in the correct order and it will make finding your entry easier. http://CandleSupply.com

CandleScience – This is one of my favorite sites. They have excellent prices on wax, molds, wicks and fragrances. They have a nifty little wick guide that matches the wax type and candle diameter to the proper wick size. Sign up for their news letter because they have sales from time to time. http://CandleScience.com

CandleWic – I haven’t bought anything here, but I see they have really good prices on palm wax. Even 1 & 5 lb bags are available while the norm seems to be 10 lb bags. They’ve got super prices on pouring pots and votive molds. Their wick pins and fragrance oils are on the pricey side. Not all fragrances are available in a small size. Still, this looks like a very good place to get some deals. http://CandleWic.com

Save On Scents – Over 1800 fragrances, including designer-like perfumes and men’s cologne. http://SaveOnScents.com

NuScents – I’ve order scents oils here before. They’re frequently out of stock on some items, so keep checking back if you really see something you want. They’ve got sampler packs of both oils and wax. So if you want to try all three Crystal, Feather, and Starburst palm waxes, the deal is good. Just remember, Crystal is a container wax. http://NuScents.com

Rustic Escentuals – I’ve never bought anything here, but they do have some dyes and fragrances. I have them on my list because they give good descriptions of the scents. http://RusticEscentuals.com

Most craft stores carry candle-making supplies. You can also find a lot of sellers on Ebay.

  • Daisy says:

depends on where you live. Michaels, or any other large craft store. Some large Wal Mart stores carry scents, wicks and wax. Also check on line.
