Through this article you will be shown how simple and enjoyable it is to make soy candles of your own. You will need some specially designed equipment to do the candle making in your house. Soy candles are highly popular right now. People that are drawn to these soy wax candles love their nice fragrance. Many people need to save money on buying candles; while other people like to be creative and create candles that are unique. People enjoy these candles due to them being inexpensive, handcrafted, and personal. The nicest thing is, you can even sell the candles you make begin having fun as well as creating a successful business.

Some of the supplies you need to have are: wick, soy candle wax, molds thermometer, fragrance oil, and dye chips. Buying supplies will not be that pricey, when you think about the fact that you can create about 20 of them, for what 2 or 3 of them would cost you in the stores. You can use any style of container, combination of colors, or fragrance that you want.

First step in this process is melting the soy wax. It will melt in just a short time and turn into a liquid. You will have to heat the wax to 185 degrees F (85 degrees C). Then mix in the dye thoroughly. Remove this melted wax off the heat to mix in your fragrance. Now it is almost time to pour the mixture into your molds.

The next step in how to make soy candles is important to succeed. Lower the temperature of your soy wax to around 150 to 160 degrees F (65 to 71 degrees C). Measure the temp with a thermometer to make sure. You then need to make sure the mold is prepared. Also warm the mold up a bit. The best way to do this is to place them in your oven and leave them for about 10 to 15 minutes prior to using them. When the soy wax is at about 150 F (65 C) you then can pour it in your molds. Make sure to fill the molds clear up to their tops with your soy wax. When using a pour pot heat it up to make it easier to use. This keeps any wax from getting hard because the pot was cold.

After you allow your soy candle wax to cool (do not use any kind of water bath to do this due to possible damage to the candle), and the soy wax candle has formed a slight skin on it, at this point you need to place the wick into the candle. Push your wick down through the candle all the way to the bottom of your mold. Do this quickly before its skin forms too thick.

The hardest stage in how to make soy candles it the next one. You have to hang on… Do not move, touch or examine your candles for about 5 hours. Follow this step-by-step guide and in around 5 hours your soy candle should be perfect. When it is ready then you nee to grab it by its wick and gently lift it from the mold.

You should feel proud of your freshly made soy candle! These candles should even impress your family and friends, they will certainly be asking you to make them one too.
